Position: Application Support Engineer

Location: Halifax NS

Key Responsibilities

Provide 24x7 global production support for Fixed Income applications across multiple time zones (Canada, UK, US).
Manage major incidents and ensure timely resolution with minimal business impact.
Drive production stability through proactive monitoring, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with development teams and vendors to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
Identify and implement automation opportunities using scripting and internal AI tools.
Conduct Incident and Problem Review Meetings (PRMs) and track action items to closure.
Ensure accurate logging and reporting of incidents in ServiceNow and prepare dashboards/presentations for stakeholders.
Implement ITIL-based service management practices (Event, Incident, Problem, and Change Management).

Required Skills & Qualifications

Extensive IT experience with strong knowledge of Capital Markets and Fixed Income products (FX, Cash, Derivatives, Structured Products, Commodities, Futures).
Understanding of trading activities (pricing, booking, execution, risk management) and market data feeds.
Familiarity with applications such as Murex, Bloomberg TOMS, Openlink, XTP.
Strong technical skills in Linux, SQL, and scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Java, Python).
Experience with Control-M, Geneos, Tableau, ServiceNow and enterprise monitoring tools.
Working knowledge of infrastructure components (servers, storage, network, middleware).
Excellent communication skills with ability to face off to trading clients and manage priorities effectively.
Solid understanding of ITIL principles and service management practices.

Nice-to-Have

Hands-on experience with Murex.
Exposure to DevOps, Cloud technologies (AWS), and distributed computing (GridGain).
Knowledge of messaging platforms like MQ, Solace, RV/RMDS.
