Large, long-running enterprise Data Warehouse within a major financial institution.
Millions of queries executed daily.
Not a greenfield project – continuous evolution of an existing platform.
Key goals:
Improve performance and efficiency
Reduce costs where possible
Increase stability and standardization
Improve usability for business users

4. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Design and review IT architecture for new and ongoing data warehouse initiatives.
Provide architectural proposals for new projects.
Analyze technical topics deeply and independently.
Support multiple parallel initiatives (e.g. performance, reporting, cloud, optimization).
Participate in:
Weekly huddles
Architectural discussions and solution brainstorming
PI retrospectives (every 3 months)
Collaborate with architects across different countries.
Act as a sparring partner for teams by discussing and challenging solution options.

Strong SQL (core skill)
Data Warehousing architecture

Data quality concepts
IT Architecture experience (senior level)

Teradata

Understanding of SAS calculation engine (high-level)
Integration patterns

Domain Knowledge (Strong Plus)
