Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – Contract

Enhanced DBS Required

6-Month Contract

Inside IR35

Up to £400/Day

Surrey (Fully On-Site)

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support a business-wide Azure cloud refresh. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where you will play a key part in improving, modernising, and optimising the organisation’s cloud infrastructure.

You will work closely with internal IT, security, and engineering teams to assess the current environment, implement enhancements, and help build a more scalable, secure, and efficient Azure platform.

Key Responsibilities

Review and improve existing Azure infrastructure as part of a cloud refresh programme
Design, implement, and optimise Azure-based solutions
Work with services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Networking, Azure AD, and Azure Storage
Implement and enhance cloud security controls and best practices
Support infrastructure automation using tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform
Improve monitoring, resilience, and performance of cloud services
Collaborate with internal teams to align cloud improvements with business needs
Document changes, designs, and processes as part of the refresh

Required Experience

Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer in an Azure environment
Strong hands-on experience with core Azure services
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, or Bicep)
Good understanding of cloud security principles and best practices
Experience working on cloud transformation or refresh projects
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Enhanced DBS

Desirable

Experience with Azure DevOps or CI/CD pipelines
Exposure to hybrid cloud environments
Experience working in a regulated or enterprise environment
