Title: Spring MVC Developer / Web Engineer

Location: Greater Holyoke Area, MA (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

About the role

This role supports a high-priority application upgrade and modernization initiative. You will work closely with the development team and business stakeholders to enhance and deliver reliable, enterprise-grade Java web applications.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and enhance applications using Java 17/21 and Spring MVC / Spring Boot
Build and maintain web components using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and AJAX
Interact with Oracle databases using SQL (and PL/SQL as needed)
Write and maintain unit tests using JUnit and Mockito
Support CI/CD and deployments using Jenkins or equivalent tools
Collaborate with end users to gather and refine requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Strong hands-on experience with Java 17/21
Solid experience with Spring MVC (Spring Boot web applications acceptable)
Experience with Oracle SQL and relational database design
Front-end experience with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, AJAX
Experience writing unit tests with JUnit and Mockito

Compensation (MA Pay Transparency):

Estimated hourly range: $55–$60/hr (W-2)
Final rate within this range will be based on skills, experience, and interview results.
