Role Overview

We are building a cybersecurity company with the ambition to redefine how modern organizations protect themselves. Our growth depends on our ability to attract and retain exceptional people. As Head of Talent, you will own how we recruit, hire, and scale a high-performing team as we double our headcount. Reporting directly to the founders, this role is responsible for building a world-class recruiting engine and ensuring we consistently raise the bar on talent as the company grows. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct accountability for hiring outcomes. You will work closely with founders and leaders to ensure we hire the best people in the market and build the systems that support them once they join.

Key Responsibilities

Own recruiting end to end, personally leading hiring across engineering, security, product, go-to-market, and operations roles
Build and scale the Talent function from the ground up, with full ownership of recruiting strategy, execution, and outcomes”
Partner closely with founders and leadership on hiring plans, role definition, org design, and headcount strategy
Design and run a high-quality hiring process, from sourcing through closing, that attracts top-tier candidates
Raise the talent bar at every level, ensuring we hire people who are exceptional at their craft and aligned with how we work
Partner with leadership and People Operations to support effective onboarding and early employee success”
Coach hiring managers on interviewing, evaluation, and decision-making
Reinforce culture through hiring, ensuring our values show up in who we bring onto the team

Qualifications

Required

Experience leading recruiting functions in fast-growing companies
Proven success hiring and scaling teams, not just supporting hiring from the sidelines
Deep expertise in full-cycle recruiting, including high-volume and high-bar roles
Strong hands-on recruiting background, including sourcing and closing senior and technical roles
Ability to operate with urgency, judgment, and ownership in an ambiguous environment
Comfort partnering directly with founders and senior leaders on critical hiring decisions

Preferred

Experience hiring in cybersecurity, SaaS, or deeply technical environments
Experience scaling teams through significant growth phases, including doubling headcount
Experience building recruiting processes and employer brand from an early stage
Exposure to supporting first-time managers
Working knowledge of people operations fundamentals and employment compliance

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: A competitive base salary ranging from $120,000 to $180,000, depending on experience and scope.
Equity: A meaningful stock option grant, providing you with a significant ownership stake in our future success.

Exact compensation will be based on experience, skills, and alignment with Dune’s compensation philosophy.

Additional Details:

Location: NYC. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of our Tribeca, Manhattan office.
Hours: Full time. 4 days in office.
