We're now on the hunt for a Python Tools Programmer to join us here at Supermassive Games. Fancy joining our team and creating your own story?

This is a 6 Month fixed term contract to start March 6th 2026 (We wont be able to offer sponsorship for this vacancy)

In this role you'll be:

As a Python Tools Programmer, you will support multiple game projects by developing and maintaining content creation tools and workflows. You'll collaborate directly with game teams to understand their needs, develop extensible systems and provide ongoing support.

You will be involved in maintaining and improving existing Python Tools, adding features to support new requirements, and architecting solutions to new problems.

A typical day will look like:

Working with a small team to develop Python tools for content creators on game teams
Documenting tool usage and supporting game teams in adoption of new systems
Meeting regularly with stakeholders to report on progress and receive feedback
Creating technical designs for solutions and collaborating with technical peers to address feedback
Planning large deliverables, breaking them down into smaller tasks and providing time estimates
Responding to bug reports or support requests, working closely with colleagues on game teams to resolve issues

Requirements

Background and skills that would best suit this position:

Experience developing and owning complex content creation tools and pipelines in Python, from end to end - requirements gathering, design and planning, implementation, support and iteration
Experience debugging Python tools in DCC Applications
Experience with managing dependencies and testing compatibility between product versions
Experience with version control systems such as Perforce or Git
Professional attitude towards support, including face-to-face support, progress updates and high-quality documentation
Experience working with Unreal Engine, Blueprint scripting, Unreal's Python API and/or C++ coding would be beneficial
Experience automating content creator workflows in DCC tools (Maya, MotionBuilder etc.) would be beneficial
