The Role

We are currently searching for a Supervisor, Operations reporting to the Senior Manager, DC Operations. This vacancy is a full-time, 12-month contract opportunity. The availability to work all shifts in a 24/7 operation is necessary to succeed in this role. As a member of our Distribution team, you will play a critical leadership role in supporting day-to-day warehouse operations in a fast-paced, unionized environment. You’ll be responsible for driving operational performance, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, supporting inventory and fleet management, and delivering exceptional service to our retail and wholesale customers. Success in this role requires strong communication and people leadership skills, sound decision-making, and the ability to motivate and guide teams in a 24/7 environment.

Onsite at the Ottawa Distribution Centre

What You'll Be Doing

Supervise the shift activities within a busy unionized DC environment
Training of new and existing employees and performance management
Ensure that customer service targets and goals are successfully met
Ensure the company’s Health and Safety, Operational and Budgetary efficiencies are met
Exemplify the Company’s dedication to customer service
Other responsibilities involve Inventory, Fleet and Warehouse Management, Quality Control, SOX and Audit compliance
Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required
Post-secondary education is considered an asset

Experience

A minimum of 3 - 5 years of operations experience
Previous experience with SAP is considered an asset
Previous experience working in a unionized environment would be a strong asset
This role requires that you hold a valid "G" class licence

Skills

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with employees across all levels of the organization
Proven leadership ability to effectively manage the team of direct reports
Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills with peers, leaders, internal and external customers.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
The ability to make sound decisions in a timely fashion
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, Ministry of Transportation and WSIB regulations would be an asset

Compensation

The hiring range for this position is $31.68 - $39.62 CAD per hour. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
