Job Specifications

Location: Montreal, Quebec (Fully onsite for the first 3 months, followed by a hybrid arrangement based on requirements.)

Job Type: 12 months contract with possible extension

Start Date: ASAP

This is a great opportunity to join our reputable client, contribute to vital transaction processing, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across the trade finance ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer a portfolio of Letters of Credit (LCs) – including issuance, confirmation, and advising of Standby and Import/Export LCs.
Ensure transactions are fully compliant with client instructions, UCP 600, ISP98, and internal credit and compliance policies.
Review, prepare, and execute LC documentation using systems such as TI+, Microsoft Word, and ACBS.
Address pending inquiries and discrepancies; follow up with stakeholders until resolution and finalization of transactions.
Maintain accurate documentation for all LC files, including executed instruments and compliance checklists.
Ensure timely disbursement of funds related to LC drawings, and record transactions within the bank's accounting system.
Prepare and send SWIFT messages for LC transactions and manual payment instructions as needed.

Candidate Profile:

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial and standby letters of credit.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; higher education preferred.
Languages: Proficiency in English is required. French is a plus.
Systems/Regulatory Knowledge:
UCP 600 / ISP98 / URDG 758
OFAC, sanctions compliance, anti-boycott regulations
SWIFT messaging formats
Familiarity with syndicated loans or syndicated LCs is a plus
Experience with LC billing processes is preferred

Attention to Detail: Precision is essential for document review and invoice reconciliation.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills
Ability to manage sensitive, time-bound transactions under pressure
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement
