Infrastructure & Application Remediation Engineer
Remote UK based role
We’re looking for a highly capable Infrastructure & Application Remediation Engineer to help identify, prioritise, and remediate technical risk across infrastructure, platforms, and applications.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning complex technical findings into practical, real‑world improvements—whether through hands‑on remediation, scripting and automation, or producing clear guidance for wider engineering teams.
You’ll play a key role in reducing technical debt, improving platform resilience, and uplifting configuration standards across a complex enterprise environment.
What you’ll be doing
Analysing technical findings, health checks, and platform assessments
Assessing risk, impact, and remediation priority
Designing and delivering pragmatic remediation solutions
Implementing fixes directly (patching, hardening, configuration changes)
Developing scripts and automation for repeatable remediation
Producing clear technical documentation and implementation guides
Collaborating with infrastructure, network, database, and application teams
Validating and evidencing remediation outcomes
Identifying recurring technical debt and recommending long‑term improvements
Contributing to configuration baselines and technical standards
Tracking remediation progress and outcomes
What we’re looking for
Strong experience in infrastructure and application troubleshooting
Proven background in configuration, patching, and platform remediation
Solid understanding of Windows, networking fundamentals, and server platforms
Experience with encryption, certificates, and secure communications
Working knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL Server (configuration perspective)
Ability to interpret scan or assessment outputs and turn them into actions
Scripting or automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar)
Comfortable working across infrastructure and application teams
Strong technical documentation skills
Nice to have
Experience with CIS, NIST, or other configuration frameworks
Exposure to DevOps / DevSecOps
Background in large enterprise or regulated environments
Familiarity with patch management and deployment tools
Cloud platform experience
