Role: Senior C++ Developer – Cloud Migration (AWS)

Location : Toronto // 2 days onsite

Experience: 10 –12+ years

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior, technically strong C++ Developer to lead and execute the migration of a large-scale, existing C++ application to AWS. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with modern C++, strong system-level understanding, and practical exposure to cloud-native or cloud-adapted architectures on AWS.

You will work closely with architecture, DevOps, and product teams to modernize the application while ensuring performance, stability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to the migration of a legacy/on-prem C++ application to AWS
Analyze existing C++ codebase and identify cloud-readiness gaps
Refactor and modernize C++ code where required (C++11/14/17 or later)
Design and implement cloud-friendly architectures (stateless services, scalability, fault tolerance)
Integrate C++ applications with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch)
Work closely with DevOps teams on CI/CD, containerization, and deployment strategies
Optimize performance, memory usage, and latency in a cloud environment
Ensure high availability, security, and monitoring of applications in AWS
Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and code reviews
Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Technical Skills

Strong expertise in C++ (C++11/14/17 or later)
Solid understanding of:
Data structures & algorithms
Multithreading and concurrency
Memory management and performance optimization
Experience working with large, complex C++ codebases
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills (Linux preferred)

Cloud & Migration Skills

Hands-on experience with AWS (at least one end-to-end project preferred)
Experience migrating or modernizing applications to cloud environments
Knowledge of:
EC2, S3, IAM, VPC
Monitoring/logging (CloudWatch, X-Ray, or similar)
Understanding of cloud security best practices
