Job Specifications
The Atlassian System Administrator is a senior individual contributor responsible for the administration, optimization, and operational reliability of the critical Tier 1 enterprise applications in our Atlassian Cloud ecosystem. This role owns complex configurations, automation, governance, and integrations across Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Atlassian Guard using IT Change Management procedures.
Responsibilities
Partners closely with development and IT service teams and ensures platforms align with Agile methodology delivery practices
Responsible for the creation and/or review of company managed projects, team managed projects, different schemes in Jira, workflows, creation of templates for reuse, permissions management, and the creation of supporting documentation for Atlassian products
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams making best recommendations for and setting up Confluence Spaces, Jira Projects, and customizing Jira Service Management instances
Looks for innovative approaches, processes, and technologies to improve the Atlassian experience at H. W. Kaufman Group
Constant learner staying current with new Atlassian products and releases with an eye towards continuous improvement
Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to Atlassian users and other Administrators
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, other related fields, or equivalent work experience
5+ years’ experience with Cloud Systems Administration
Deep hands-on expertise and the ability to design scalable solutions, mentor junior administrators, and proactively improve platform performance, security, and user experience
Understand both Scrum and Kanban project management frameworks
Knowledgeable with Jira Cloud, Jira Cloud Team-Managed and Company managed projects, Confluence Cloud, Jira Service Management Cloud, Atlassian Guard and Guard Premium
Experience administering Tier 1 enterprise applications
Working knowledge of IT Change Management processes
Ability to troubleshoot complex configurations and integrations in a Cloud environment
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLCs) - Scrum, Kanban, Lean (plus)
Computer Application Skills - MS Office Suite, Lucid Suite, Edge and Chrome browsers
Atlassian Certifications (nice to have)
Bitbucket Cloud (nice to have)
HTML, CSS, RegEx (nice to have)
Insurance industry experience (nice to have)
Java (nice to have)
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
