HR Data Specialist - Time and Absence

Duration: 6 months (likely extension to year end)

Location: Chester, UK

Working hours: Flexible start and finish times with core hours 10:00 to 16:00

Onsite requirements: 50/50 hybrid, Wednesday anchor day onsite

Engagement Type: Via PAYE / Umbrella

Hourly rate: £14.83 per hour

Atrium Global is supporting a client in the pharmaceutical industry with the hire of an HR Data Specialist to join their HR Capability Centre team, providing operational support across multiple EMEA markets.

Job Overview

This is a fast paced, varied HR operations role focused primarily on leave of absence, time tracking and employee data administration within Workday. You will manage a high volume of cases, ensuring accurate and compliant processing of absence and time related transactions across several EMEA countries. The role works closely with payroll, compensation and benefits, and HR colleagues to maintain data integrity and support employees through the full leave lifecycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Process and administer leave of absence, time off and time tracking transactions within Workday
Review and approve employee and manager submitted transactions
Enter and backdate adjustments including accruals and corrections
Ensure all documentation and statutory reporting requirements are completed per country
Maintain accurate and compliant employee records ahead of payroll cut offs
Manage cases through ServiceNow
Communicate with employees and managers to support smooth leave transitions
Monitor return to work actions and follow up with managers
Run and analyse reports from Workday and E-time, correcting discrepancies
Support payroll, compensation and benefits teams with data and queries
Escalate complex issues where appropriate
Provide standard employment letters when required
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information
Recommend process improvements and support operational excellence initiatives
Participate in ad hoc HR projects as needed

REQUIREMENTS

Experience in time and absence or HR administration
Experience processing leave of absence cases
Exposure to HRIS or HCM systems, ideally Workday
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Comfortable working in a fast paced, high volume environment (circa 100 cases per week)
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong team collaboration skills
Intermediate Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes

NICE TO HAVE

Experience with ServiceNow
Experience with E-time reporting
Additional language skills such as German, Spanish or French
