Software Engineer – C++ / Embedded / Firmware

Location: Montreal, QC

Client: Actalent (Engineering Center – Multiple Programs)

Actalent’s Montreal engineering center is expanding rapidly and is looking to bring on Software Engineers to support multiple long-term, cutting-edge programs. This is a flexible role where engineers will be aligned to projects based on skills and interest during the interview process.

Projects may include:

• Civil drone systems

• Sonar-based naval platforms

• Smart building fire detection & alarm systems

• Autonomous mining vehicles and drilling systems

• Aircraft flight management systems

What we’re looking for:

• 3–5+ years of modern C++ experience (Linux preferred; Windows candidates must have Qt)

OR

• 3–5+ years of firmware / embedded experience, programming in C on microcontrollers

• Strong software fundamentals and ability to adapt across projects

• Comfortable working onsite multiple days per week (north shore, south shore, or Montreal center)

Nice to have:

• Bilingual (English/French) – not mandatory

• Experience in safety-critical or real-time systems
