Location: Twickenham (Site Based)
Salary: Competitive base salary

About the Company
The company is an independent design-and-build refurbishment and fit-out specialist, working almost exclusively within the independent and private education sector. Projects range from classroom refurbishments and specialist teaching spaces to boarding houses, science labs, libraries, and whole-school transformations.
Operating as a one-stop shop, the business combines architecture, interior design, and construction delivery under one roof. This enables teams to move quickly, collaborate closely with clients, and maintain control over quality, cost, and programme.
Role Overview
We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Document Controller to join our clients site team on a construction project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, distributing, and maintaining project documentation, ensuring information is accurate, up to date, and readily available to all stakeholders.
The project is expected to last around 2 years, the contract length of this role will be the same.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, manage, and maintain the project document control system
Upload, issue, and track drawings, specifications, RFIs, and technical documents
Ensure correct document numbering, version control, and approval status
Distribute documentation to internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants
Maintain drawing registers and document logs
Support the project team with document retrieval and reporting
Ensure compliance with project procedures and quality standards
Liaise with design teams, subcontractors, and client representatives as required
Assist with handover documentation at project completion
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Previous experience in a document control or administrative role within construction or engineering
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Good communication skills and a proactive approach
Desirable (but not essential):
Experience using A-Site or other document management systems (e.g. Viewpoint, 4Projects, Asite, etc.)
Previous site-based construction experience
Understanding of construction drawings and technical documentation
