Job Title: AI Strategist (Business Analyst - Advanced)

Location: 2600 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201

Work Location: Hybrid (2-3 days onsite per week)

Contract Duration: 12 months (Possible extension)

Interview Process: 1 Round, Virtual/Online

Job Summary:

The AI Strategist will report to the Agency Head and collaborate closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to define and recommend strategies that leverage AI technologies to improve operational efficiency, enhance services, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. The role will guide the agency's AI vision, foster innovation, and maintain transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and co-create an agencywide AI strategy aligned with mission outcomes and citizen services.

• Define principles for ethical AI use, including fairness and transparency.

• Collaborate with agency programs to identify AI opportunities and define measurable success metrics.

• Lead training programs to build AI literacy across roles.

• Ensure AI projects comply with technical, ethical, and regulatory standards.

• Work closely with OT to monitor performance and improve AI solutions.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree and relevant program management experience.

• Experience with AI technologies, machine learning, and data governance.

• Experience in the government or public sector.

Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in AI strategy, data analytics, or IT.

• 2+ years of experience with AI technologies and machine learning.

• Strong strategic planning, change management, and stakeholder engagement experience.
