This is not a traditional software engineering role.
We're building something new. At Pushnami, AI agents write 80%+ of our production code. We need someone who can make that number higher, make it faster, and make it secure. About the Role
Software development has fundamentally changed. The best engineers are no longer measured by lines of code they write—they're measured by the quality and velocity of what they ship using AI coding agents. We're looking for someone who lives this reality every day.
As our AI Enablement Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring AI-generated code meets production standards, accelerating our entire engineering team's agentic development capabilities, and building the tools and workflows that let us move faster without sacrificing security or quality.
What You'll Do
• Review and quality-gate AI-generated pull requests — quickly identify when AI output is production-ready vs. needs rework, catching context window issues, missed edge cases, and incorrect assumptions
• Enable the team — help engineers improve their prompting, spec writing, and AI workflow practices so the whole team ships faster
• Build with AI agents — use Claude Code and similar tools to ship features yourself, demonstrating what great agentic development looks like
• Own security in an AI-first environment — implement and maintain code scanning tools (Semgrep, Dependabot, etc.), establish secure workflows for AI agents accessing infrastructure, and ensure we're not trading speed for vulnerabilities
• Build internal tools — create automation that makes code review faster, catches common AI mistakes, and improves our overall development velocity
• Participate in architecture decisions — help shape how we structure systems so AI agents can work on them effectively
What You Bring
Required:
• Demonstrated experience shipping complex projects using agentic AI coding tools — we want to see what you've built with Claude Code, not just that you've used ChatGPT for autocomplete
• Strong code comprehension skills — ability to read and evaluate large volumes of code quickly across unfamiliar codebases
• Pattern recognition for AI mistakes — you know what AI-generated code gets wrong (hallucinated APIs, context window drift, surface-level implementations)
• Security awareness — understanding of common vulnerabilities, secure coding practices, and how AI agents can inadvertently introduce security risks
• Proficiency in at least one of: Go, TypeScript, or Python — comfortable learning others as needed
Nice to Have:
• Experience running multiple AI coding sessions/worktrees simultaneously
• Familiarity with test-driven development using AI (TDD with AI agents)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, AWS CDK)
• Background in lead generation, adtech, or high-volume transactional systems
What We're NOT Looking For
• Someone who wants to write code the traditional way and views AI as optional
• A pure "code reviewer" who doesn't want to ship features themselves
• Someone who needs hand-holding on ambiguous problems—we need self-starters who figure things out

Compensation & Location
• Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 depending on experience
• Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid—in-office collaboration with flexibility)
• Benefits: Health, dental, vision, 401(k), unlimited PTO
• Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
