Fortune Law is an award-winning boutique law firm based in Holborn, London. We specialise in advising founders and entrepreneurs on a wide range of business law issues including early stage fundraising, M&A, commercial disputes, IP and brand protection and commercial property transactions.
We are looking for an ambitious and highly motivated paralegal with drive, excellent academics and a genuine interest in working with founders and entrepreneurs. The role is fast paced providing first hand experience in handling intellectually demanding and complex client matters and legal drafting. Attention to detail is a must.
You will be responsible for assisting with various commercial transactions, client care, legal research, and other critical tasks that contribute to the success of our clients and our firm.
You will be working on a range of corporate commercial matters, including commercial agreements, intellectual property, commercial leases, dispute resolution, fundraising and M&A. You will regularly find yourself across the negotiation table with City firms on both transactional work and litigation matters.
You will also be required to assist with marketing and business development and so should have a keen desire to develop these skills.

Salary:
£30,000 per annum plus a further 10% bonus for meeting monthly targets paid on a monthly basis.
Responsibilities:
Client Care:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, taking instructions, maintaining regular communication and ensuring exceptional client service throughout their interactions with the firm.
Provide timely responses to client enquiries and address their concerns with a high level of professionalism and empathy.
Act as a liaison between clients and solicitors, ensuring that client needs, and expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
Proactivity and Organisation:
Work closely with and be supervised by the Managing Director in managing commercial transactions and cases by proactively identifying potential issues, organising case materials, and maintaining deadlines.
Anticipate client and team needs to ensure efficient workflow and smooth case management.
Demonstrate strong initiative and resourcefulness in handling tasks and resolving challenges.
Legal Research and Document Preparation:
Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law to support solicitors in preparing legal strategies.
Draft and review documents such as shareholders agreements, sale and purchase contracts, board minutes, shareholder resolutions, articles of association, online terms and conditions, commercial contracts, employment contracts, instructions to Counsel, witness statements, court bundles and claim forms and correspondence with precise attention to detail and adherence to firm standards.
Case and Transaction Support:
Organise and maintain case files, document databases, and electronic records to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is readily accessible.
Conduct client onboarding including opening and closing of files, prepare letters of engagement and costs estimates and conduct online KYC (Know Your Client checks);
Prepare case summaries, advice memos on complex legal issues, status reports, and documentation required for court filings, negotiations, and meetings.
Assist in due diligence processes for commercial transactions and participate in contract review.
Academic Excellence and Professional Development:
Stay updated on legal developments, trends, and best practices within the commercial law domain, seeking opportunities for continuous professional growth.
Contribute to legal research underpinning marketing initiatives including client newsletters and developing legal and commercial video content for our Fortune Law Academy.
Participate in internal training sessions and contribute knowledge and insights to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Build positive relationships with clients and the rest of the Fortune Law team.
