As the Senior Application Developer, you will design, develop, and optimise innovative applications that support geophysical data processing, modelling, visualisation, and interpretation. You will work closely with geoscientists, helping them derive insights through powerful visualisation tools. The team collaborates globally across Europe, Canada, and the United States.

Your Responsibilities
- Build high‑performance applications for geophysical and geological data analysis, interpretation, and visualisation.
- Translate scientific requirements into robust on‑prem or cloud software solutions.
- Present architecture proposals to review boards.
- Implement and optimise computational algorithms.
- Develop thin‑ and thick‑client applications integrated with cloud microservices.
- Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and secure coding practices.
- Provide user support and resolve technical issues.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to architecture discussions.
- Work in Agile/Scrum teams.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies.
Mandatory Skills
- Core Java (OpenJDK 21)
- Eclipse RCP/SWT/Swing and thick‑client development
- Java design patterns and best practices
- OpenGL and 2D/3D graphics programming
- Algorithmic analysis and optimisation
- Agile teamwork, debugging, CI/CD
Desirable Skills
- C++ development
- Geoscience or scientific application development
- GitLab, Eclipse, VS Code, CI/CD pipelines
- Performance tools (VisualVM, JMC/JFR, Async)
- Windows and Linux environments
- GitHub Copilot experience
- Geophysical data formats (SEG‑Y, BRICK, CMP, OpenVDS)
- Interpretation tools (Petrel, Kingdom, GeoFrame, PaleoScan)
- Cloud & distributed systems (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Spark)
- Python scientific libraries (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, TensorFlow)
- GPU computing (CUDA)
- Angular, React, Quarkus, Spring Boot, AWS API Gateway
