Job Description: Azure Cloud Engineer (Databases & DevOps Focus)

Toronto, ON- 3- 4 days a week Onsite

Long Term Contract(6 Months to start with)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer with 8–10 years of experience managing cloud-native environments, database platforms, and automated deployments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure services—particularly Cosmos DB and SQL Server—combined with strong Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD automation skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Azure Solution Design & Deployment

Design, deploy, and manage Azure-based solutions with a focus on security, scalability, and high availability.

Implement architectural best practices across compute, networking, identity, and governance.

2. Database Management (Cosmos DB & SQL Server)

Manage, monitor, and maintain Azure Cosmos DB and Azure SQL Server environments.

Handle provisioning, patching, performance optimization, replication, and scaling.

Configure and maintain database security, including:

Access controls

Role-based permissions

Encryption (TDE, data encryption at rest/in transit)
