Role: Gen AI Lead
Title: AVP/VP
Location: Montreal, QC (Day 1 Onsite/Hybrid) – Fulltime
Mode of Work: 3 days/week onsite required

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled GenAI Lead with deep expertise in AI architecture, solution design, and hands‑on development. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, driving innovation, and leading end‑to‑end implementation of Generative AI solutions across enterprise environments. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to design scalable architectures, build production‑ready AI systems, and guide the organization’s GenAI strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise‑grade Generative AI solutions.
Develop scalable, secure, and high‑performance AI system architectures using modern cloud and MLOps practices.
Evaluate and integrate LLMs, vector databases, retrieval pipelines, and prompt‑engineering frameworks.
Define best practices, reference architectures, and reusable components for GenAI adoption.
Hands‑On Development
Build and optimize GenAI applications using frameworks such as Lang Chain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or similar.
Implement RAG pipelines, fine‑tuning, model evaluation, and prompt optimization.
Develop APIs, microservices, and backend components to operationalize AI models.
Conduct POCs, prototypes, and performance benchmarking.
Problem Solving & Technical Leadership
Analyze complex business problems and translate them into AI‑driven solutions.
Troubleshoot model performance, data quality, latency, and integration challenges.
Provide technical leadership to developers, data scientists, and engineering teams.
Stay current with emerging GenAI technologies, tools, and research trends.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Partner with product, engineering, data, and business teams to define AI use cases and roadmaps.
Communicate architectural decisions, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Mentor team members and contribute to building internal AI capability.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML development, or related technical roles.
Strong expertise in AI/ML architecture, solution design, and cloud‑native systems.
Hands‑on experience with LLMs, GenAI frameworks, vector databases, and RAG architectures.
Proficiency in Python, API development, and modern cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
Strong understanding of data pipelines, embeddings, model lifecycle, and MLOps.
Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to lead technical discussions and drive end‑to‑end solution delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with fine‑tuning, model evaluation, and prompt engineering.
Knowledge of enterprise security, governance, and responsible AI practices.
Exposure to containerization, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and scalable deployment patterns.
Prior experience leading AI/ML teams or technical initiatives.
