Role Summary

The Legal & Compliance Project Manager supports the Director of Legal and Compliance Operations in driving strategic initiatives, operational efficiency, and program execution across the Legal and Compliance functions. This role ensures projects and processes are well-coordinated, documented, and delivered on time to meet organizational goals. The position combines project management compliance operations, and legal operations expertise to enhance overall department performance and alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Director of Legal and Compliance Operations in planning and executing departmental projects and initiatives, as well as managing operational frameworks and workflows.
Develop and manage compliance and legal related projects from inception to completion, including project plans, timelines, and stakeholder communications.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage dependencies between Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and business units.
Establish intake, triage, and prioritization workflows for legal and compliance requests.
Design, document, and continuously improve legal and compliance processes, SOPs, and playbooks.
Track progress, identify risks or obstacles, and recommend mitigation strategies.
Special Projects Support: Support execution of 6-month GDPR implementation plan, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring timely delivery of compliance milestones. Support additional special projects throughout the legal and compliance teams, as needed.
Lead the end-to-end implementation of the organization’s CLM system, including requirements gathering, system configuration, data migration, and integration with enterprise tools (e.g, Outlook, Salesforce).

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or PMP certification
5-8 years of experience in project management, legal operations, or compliance operations
5-8 years of relevant, broad-based legal operations experience gained in an in-house legal department or leading law firm
3-5 years of experience administering or implementing enterprise wide systems (DMS, CLM, or related workflow platforms)
Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g. HIPAA, HHS OIG, CMS, data privacy)
Proficiency with project management and legal operations tools (e.g. Smartsheets, GoogleSheets, Asana, Monday.com, or Contracts Lifecycle Management)
Strong project/program management, stakeholder communication, and change-management skills.
Analytical skills and objective judgment to effectively manage problem resolution.
Self-driven with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Excellent oral and written communication, organization, and time management skills.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and Outlook.
Proven ability to assess complex situations and prioritize multiple projects and demands

The estimated total cash compensation range for this role is:

$124,000—$155,000 USD
