Senior Data Engineer - Contract - London

3 days per week onsite, Central London

High-Impact Engineering Consultancy | UK

We’re partnering with a fast-growing, engineer-led consultancy that specialises in solving hard, high-impact technical problems for large financial services organisations.

The Role

They’re looking for a Data Engineer with real-world, production experience to join their consulting team. You’ll work closely with client engineering teams on complex data problems — from data modelling and pipelines to streaming, reliability, and operational excellence.

What They’re Looking For

Strong grounding in computer science fundamentals and data modelling
Solid experience across the software delivery lifecycle as it applies to data
Commercial experience with Python (and strong SQL skills)
Experience with streaming and data processing (e.g. Kafka, Spark, Athena or similar)
Hands-on experience with AWS or another major cloud provider
Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
Clear communicator who can explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders
