Main Responsibilities
Within the Purchasing Department, you will report to the Packaging Purchasing Manager for the Aluminium and Tear Strip categories. Your main responsibilities will include:
Deploy the Purchasing strategy for the Aluminium category (cheesefoil and lidding: La Vache qui rit®, Kiri®, Apericube®, Boursin®, etc.): needs analysis, cost analysis, market analysis, suggestions for specification changes, sourcing, etc. (15 factories + 4 co-manufacturers).
Carry out market monitoring and stay informed through your network about regulatory, technical, and market developments to adjust strategy, prioritize, or initiate new projects.
Manage the supplier panel in accordance with Purchasing strategies (supplier performance, business reviews, evaluations, productivity plans, improvement plans, etc.).
Ensure Purchasing performance: make market positioning recommendations, monitor indices, organize calls for tender, conduct negotiations, carry out productivity projects, establish Purchasing contracts, etc.
Build the budget across the Group scope, coordinate the different countries, and conduct monthly follow-ups with action plan proposals to reduce variances.
Propose cost-reduction initiatives (volume pooling, complexity reduction, challenging specifications, optimizing supplies, etc.).
Optimize cash flow in relation to inventory and obsoletes linked to product discontinuations, launches, and switches.
Conduct regular risk analyses and identify appropriate contingency plans; lead security or business continuity projects in partnership with stakeholders.
Participate in development and innovation projects with requesters (marketing, factories, R&I, sales, etc.), drive innovation, and challenge value analysis.
Contribute to the Group's CSR commitments by managing CSR projects within your purchasing category.
Take part in supplier audits and visits, support the resolution of supplier disputes (quality, quantity, returns, credit note requests).
Represent Packaging Purchasing in various decision-making bodies (Development Committees, Steering Committees).
Complete appropriate reporting to effectively manage the category (market trends, purchasing variances and budget landing, monitoring and progress of the productivity pipeline, business safeguarding, etc.).
PROFILE
With a higher education degree (Master's level or equivalent), ideally in packaging engineering (such as ESIEC, ESI Reims, ESEPAC…) or general engineering in food industries or a Master's in Purchasing specialization, you have at least 3 years' experience in packaging purchasing. Ideally, you already have knowledge of purchasing packaging or raw materials.
You possess strong analytical and project management skills, and demonstrate real leadership.
You are proficient with ERP systems (ideally SAP) and the Microsoft Office suite.
You have fluent English skills.
