Compliance & Forensic Audit Specialist (Automotive)

Contract: 12 Months

Location: GTA, on-site

The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance & Forensic Audit Specialist to protect brand integrity and ensure dealer network transparency. In this role, you won't just be checking boxes; you will be a corporate detective, leveraging data analytics and OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) to identify sophisticated sales anomalies, export violations, and fraudulent patterns.

Core Responsibilities

Data Surveillance: Run daily anomaly monitoring across sales data to detect "red flag" behaviors, including straw buyers, reseller clusters, and out-of-province sales patterns.
Forensic Investigations: Conduct deep-dive reviews of deal files (KYC evidence, bank drafts, non-export agreements) to ensure total policy alignment and identify discrepancies.
Asset Tracking: Monitor VIN movement and export signals using internal systems and OSINT tools to maintain an active watchlist of intermediaries and resellers.
Enforcement & Recovery: Assess policy violations, calculate financial penalties/chargebacks, and draft formal non-compliance communications in partnership with Legal teams.
Strategic Reporting: Maintain high-level dashboards tracking case pipelines, recovered funds, and regional "hotspots." Provide concise briefings to executive leadership on emerging fraud trends.
Process Innovation: Collaborate with IT and Data teams to design AI-driven automation rules and pattern alerts to stay ahead of bad actors.
Regulatory Liaison: Act as a point of contact for export inquiries, coordinating with authorities (e.g., CBSA) and internal Legal counsel as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 4–7 years in Compliance, Internal Audit, Fraud Investigation, AML/KYC, or Export Controls.
Education: Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
Analytical Power: Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and data analytics tools. You should be comfortable synthesizing complex data into defensible evidence.
Communication: Exceptional written skills for drafting formal audit findings and legal correspondence; strong presence for delivering leadership briefings.
Mindset: You are discreet, highly organized, and thrive in "gray areas" where investigative intuition is just as important as the rulebook.
