About the Company
Our client is a high-growth defense technology company building next-generation, AI-powered systems that protect democratic institutions. They operate at the intersection of advanced software, national security, and ethical innovation — and they move fast.
This is not a legacy defense contractor environment. This is a builder’s environment.
The team is mission-driven, technically elite, and deeply focused on creating secure, sovereign AI infrastructure that ensures open societies remain in control of their most critical systems. If you're energized by solving hard problems, working with cutting-edge technology, and shaping secure systems from the ground up, this is that opportunity.
The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Cloud Security Engineer who wants to build — not just maintain.
As an early member of the U.S. team, you’ll help design and harden the secure cloud foundation powering advanced AI and defense applications. You won’t be stepping into a fully built machine — you’ll be helping architect it.
This role is ideal for someone excited about:
Emerging cloud and AI infrastructure
Designing secure-by-default environments
Automating security at scale
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with elite engineers
Owning security strategy in a fast-moving environment
You’ll serve as a critical bridge between engineering and security operations, embedding security into every layer of the stack from day one.
What You’ll Build & Own
Secure Cloud Architecture
Design and deploy resilient, scalable environments across AWS, Azure, or GCP aligned with modern frameworks (NIST, CIS).
Security-First DevOps
Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and integrate SAST/DAST tooling directly into CI/CD pipelines to enable secure, rapid development.
Cloud Detection & Monitoring
Build and optimize logging, alerting, and monitoring systems using SIEM (Splunk, Elastic) and CSPM tools (Wiz, Prisma).
Incident Response & Cloud Forensics
Investigate and respond to security events across containers, serverless workloads, and cloud-native services.
Zero-Trust Identity Architecture
Design and enforce IAM policies, MFA, and least-privilege access models in a modern Zero-Trust framework.
Proactive Vulnerability Management
Lead vulnerability scanning, audits, and penetration testing efforts across infrastructure and applications.
What You Bring
Experience
3–5+ years in cybersecurity
2+ years focused on cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Technical Strength
Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
Deep understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, VPCs/Subnets)
Experience operating in regulated or high-security environments
Clearance
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance in the future
Nice to Have
CCSP, CISSP, or cloud security certifications
Experience with FedRAMP, CMMC, or NIST 800-53
Background in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
Why This Role
Early-stage impact with real ownership
Cutting-edge AI and cloud technology
Mission that matters
Competitive compensation including base salary + equity (RSUs)
Opportunity to help shape the security architecture of a high-growth defense tech company
