Maes Solutions is actively recruiting experienced Cyber Security Engineers for full-time roles with direct clients across multiple US locations, emphasizing no C2C arrangements. The positions target candidates with 10+ years as Cyber Security Engineer, including consultants willing to relocate who are preferred, and align well with high demand in states like New York, New Jersey and Texas among others.
Position Overview
Experienced Cyber Security Analyst who secures the organization’s technical environment. Analyzes existing hardware/software, evaluates new options, recommends improvements, identifies vulnerabilities, and develops threat mitigation procedures. Monitors networks for suspicious activity, stays current on threat intelligence, installs/maintains security tools/encryption, aids security planning/policy implementation, flags policy-violating processes, remediates vulnerabilities, and tackles advanced technical projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop/operate/evolve Cloud Access Security solutions.
• Administer security on OS, apps, network devices per policies/best practices/vendor guidelines.
• Install/configure security systems (policy tools, appliances, host-based).
• Conduct threat/vulnerability assessments, remediate, harden systems (patches, remove weaknesses).
• Research/implement automation; maintain documentation.
• Monitor networks/intrusions with IDS/IPS, firewalls, host tools; correlate activity across endpoints/networks/apps (on-prem/cloud) for anomalies.
• Use threat intel to research emerging risks/incidents.
• Deploy cloud threat detection; support/deliver multiple projects on time.
• Train juniors on tools/reports/issues; stay current on job knowledge/policies.
• Create/test/update incident response/BC/DR plans.
• Analyze problems, seek novel solutions, pre-implementation security testing.
• Provide KPIs to Risk Mgmt; educate teams on best practices; assist IT audits.
• Ensure corporate compliance: prevent/detect/report unethical conduct.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent IT Security experience.
• 10+ years Information Systems; 5+ years Information Security (vuln mgmt tools like app/code scanners).
• 5+ years with DNS, routing, auth, VPN, proxies, IDS/IPS, DDoS mitigation.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving; threats/vulns/exploits knowledge.
• Hands-on: Patch Mgmt, Encryption, SIEM monitoring.
• Windows AD/GPO/WSUS; Azure AD/Office 365; NIST/HITRUST/CIS Controls.
• Security cert (CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, CISM).
• Scripting/automation (PowerShell/Python); strategic/risk-based thinking.
• Articulate tech risks in business terms; work independently under stress/multiple crises.
• Strong interpersonal/team skills across roles/vendors.
• Experience implementing/operating security hardware/software.
Preferred Qualifications
• Network infra (routers/switches/firewalls/wireless/protocols).
• SCCM, Nutanix, VMware, Linux, content filtering, Signal Sciences, Rapid7, CrowdStrike, CyberArk.
• TLS, HTTPS, SFTP, SSH, IPSec.
