Join us as a Lead Azure DevOps Engineer at Peregrine Resourcing.

How Specialist Talent Works:

At Peregrine, we find the best talent for our clients. As a permanent employee of Peregrine, with access to all our standard benefits, you will be deployed across our portfolio of clients as a specialist consultant, working on a wide array of complex projects across multiple industries.

The Role:

Our client has been expanding its cloud footprint significantly over recent years and is continuing to evolve its operating model to optimise platform performance and service delivery.

This is a lead role within a newly formed Application Cloud Platform team, responsible for the day-to-day operations and technical backlog of the Azure platform hosting critical applications, as well as an emerging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platform supporting HR and Finance solutions.

You will oversee cloud platform components across multiple business-critical solutions, provide strategic technical guidance, and support the growth and development of the team. While you will not manage the applications themselves, you will own the cloud platform layer that underpins them.

This role will also involve close collaboration with website and CMS teams, as well as external partners supporting digital content delivery. A strong focus on automation, continuous improvement, and platform best practice is essential.

Responsibilities:

Lead day-to-day cloud platform operations across Azure and OCI environments
Own and manage the technical backlog for the application cloud platform
Monitor Azure and OCI components relevant to hosted applications and troubleshoot platform-level issues
Deploy and maintain golden images, manage subscriptions, and oversee Kubernetes upgrades
Support Microsoft Power Platform and Azure Data teams with platform build and support activities
Champion automation and DevOps best practices across the platform estate
Implement and maintain industry best practice monitoring, alerting, and logging
Ensure effective management of patching, certificates, RBAC and security controls
Operate within strict change control and governance frameworks
Provide strategic guidance and help scale platform capability within the team

Skills & Experience:

Essential Criteria:

Experience operating platforms within a controlled environment with strict change management
Strong IT operations background, ideally within cloud environments
Proven experience managing Kubernetes environments and observability tooling
Strong expertise in Azure monitoring, logging and observability tools
Expert-level Microsoft Azure knowledge, including Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF)
Microsoft Azure administration experience and/or certification
Windows and Linux administration experience
Automation scripting experience (e.g., Terraform)

Desirable Criteria:

Experience with SharePoint Online
Good .NET and C# skills
SSIS skills and experience with data integration/migration tooling
Experience delivering solutions across the full SDLC, including Agile and DevOps methodologies
Experience with continuous delivery, automated regression testing, TDD and monitoring
Strong understanding of Azure networking
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365
Knowledge of website infrastructure including Content Delivery Networks (e.g., Akamai) and CMS platforms (e.g., Sitecore)
Working knowledge of OCI networking, compute, database and identity services
