Data Scientist III – E&S AI2

Department Description/Overview

The Analytics, Insights & Artificial Intelligence (AI2) team delivers data‑driven insights and advanced analytics solutions that support strategic decision‑making across the organization. Within AI2, the Environmental & Sustainability (E&S) Analytics team focuses on enabling sustainability and climate‑risk strategies through scalable data, analytics, and AI solutions built in a modern cloud environment.

Role Summary

The Data Scientist III leads end‑to‑end analytics initiatives that transform complex data into actionable insights driving business decisions and long‑term value. This role partners closely with business, risk, and technology stakeholders to design, develop, and operationalize advanced analytics and machine learning solutions supporting environmental sustainability and climate‑related objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead advanced analytics initiatives from problem definition through insight delivery and production deployment
Translate complex business and sustainability challenges into robust data science solutions
Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and data engineering techniques using Python, SQL, and cloud‑based platforms
Design and deliver clear, compelling data visualizations and narratives for technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior leadership
Build scalable, reusable analytics assets, dashboards, and models that deliver long‑term business value
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and software developers
Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, influencing decisions through evidence‑based insights
Provide thought leadership on emerging analytics techniques, industry trends, and best practices
Mentor and support the development of other analytics professionals

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, or a related quantitative field
Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., data science, statistics, computer science, engineering, finance); graduate degree preferred
Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks)
Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation, and applied machine learning
Experience delivering production‑ready analytics solutions in a cloud environment
Proven ability to communicate complex insights clearly and influence diverse stakeholders
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
