Contract | Hybrid | Inside IR35

We are seeking an experienced DV Cleared Data Scientist to join a secure, high-profile government programme delivering advanced analytical capabilities within a regulated environment.

This is a contract opportunity operating inside IR35, with hybrid working arrangements. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, active Developed Vetting (DV) clearance is essential.

The Role

As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in developing, deploying, and maintaining advanced analytical and machine learning solutions within live operational environments. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, scalable, and production-ready data science capabilities.

The role requires a strong blend of statistical knowledge, software engineering discipline, and an understanding of how to operationalise models within secure systems.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain machine learning and advanced analytics solutions
Translate complex data into actionable insights and deployable models
Support the operationalisation of models within production environments
Contribute to automation, optimisation, and continuous improvement of analytical pipelines
Work closely with engineering and architecture teams to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions
Ensure solutions align with security, governance, and compliance standards

Required Skills & Experience

Active DV Clearance (mandatory)
Strong programming capability, particularly in Python
Experience working with modern machine learning frameworks and tooling
Exposure to model lifecycle management and operationalisation practices (MLOps)
Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies
Understanding of automated build, test, and deployment pipelines
Knowledge of data processing concepts including transformation workflows and large-scale data environments
Experience contributing to scalable, cloud-aligned data platforms
