What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Processing Specialist is responsible for full cycle payroll processing for Salaried and Hourly Employees in Canada and US.

What You’ll Do Here

Salary Payroll Processing; On/Off Cycles (Hourly Back Up) Canadian and US
Processing of Executive Compensation and ability to administer and validate Executive off cycles immediately upon request
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission, run audit reports, and perform validation to ensure accurate and timely processing
Resolve payroll processing errors and systematic issues
Process Terminations & ROE issuance
Process Garnishment orders
Process recalls, reversals and voids
Process Year End adjustments and perform validations
Maintain key control and audit documentation
Develop process efficiencies and ongoing process improvements
Document all payroll processing procedures
Exception reporting and troubleshooting
Balancing semi-monthly and weekly payrolls – month end & year end
Second level escalation for payroll & time transactions
Liaison with ADP when required
Respond to internal inquiries from HR and Management and work closely with HCM’s regarding employee data and payroll results
Work with Payroll Accounting Team on GL variances due to payroll processing
Support Year End activities
Registration of payroll tax accounts
Support employees with paystub and access issues
Manage gross-up and shadow payrolls
Assist with ad hoc projects and other administrative tasks as assigned

What You Bring To The Team

Completion of CPA payroll designation
SAP HCM & Payroll experience
Strong Technical Skills is a must, the ability to decipher payroll processing errors, correct and resolve
Demonstrated ability to analyze, and solve complex problems
Ability to multi-task and work under extremely tight timelines
Possess a high attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity
Proficient in Microsoft Office & Business Objects
US and International payroll experience an asset
Strong communication skills and organizational skills
Ability to work both independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay Range: $70,000 - $75,000

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
