Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Security Engineer – Container & DevSecOps on behalf of our client in New York City, NY.

This role is focused on strengthening the security posture of enterprise container platforms and enhancing Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices across the organization. The ideal candidate will design and implement automated, scalable security solutions that harden containerized environments while enabling development teams to move efficiently and securely.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain automated security solutions for containerized platforms
Strengthen container SDLC processes, with emphasis on image scanning and vulnerability management
Engineer and enforce enterprise-grade security controls across Kubernetes-based environments
Collaborate with platform engineering, DevOps, and development teams to embed DevSecOps best practices
Contribute to secure, scalable, and reliable architecture design
Enhance container hardening, runtime security, and compliance enforcement mechanisms
Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
Evaluate, recommend, and implement security tools aligned with enterprise standards

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience in security engineering or related roles
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Strong expertise in Kubernetes (K8s) and container technologies such as Docker, Podman, or OpenShift
Deep understanding of Kubernetes security fundamentals and DevSecOps principles
Hands-on experience with container image scanning and vulnerability management tools
Proficiency in Python or Java
Experience with development and CI/CD tools including Git, Maven, Jenkins, Bitbucket, and modern IDEs
Full SDLC experience including design, implementation, deployment, and operations
Experience contributing to architecture decisions focused on reliability, scalability, and secure design
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience implementing enterprise-grade container hardening strategies
Familiarity with cloud-native security frameworks and compliance standards
Experience with runtime security monitoring and policy enforcement tools
Background working in large-scale, regulated enterprise environments
