Job Specifications
A high-growth AI infrastructure company is building technology that helps large organizations deploy generative AI systems that are accurate, reliable, and tailored to their specific business needs. Rather than relying on generic AI tools, their platform enables enterprises to adapt language models to their own data, workflows, and performance requirements, making AI genuinely usable in production environments.
They are hiring a Business Development Representative (BDR) to help scale their commercial efforts as demand from enterprise customers continues to grow. This role sits at the front of the go-to-market function and plays a critical role in identifying real-world use cases, engaging technical and business stakeholders, and moving early conversations toward pilot initiatives.
Role Mandate & Responsibilities
Own outbound prospecting across email, phone, and LinkedIn to generate qualified meetings
Research and prioritize target enterprise accounts and relevant stakeholders
Engage technical and business buyers in early-stage conversations to understand challenges and identify potential use cases
Collaborate closely with sales leadership to refine messaging, outreach strategies, and account prioritization
Track outreach activity and conversion metrics, and iterate on what's working
Ensure high-quality handoff of qualified opportunities into the sales process
What They Are Looking For
Background A: 1-3 years of professional experience in consulting, venture capital, or private equity with a focus on technology solutions
Background B: 1-3 years of professional experience in implementation, customer-facing technical roles, or early commercial functions (such as founding BDR)
Prior sales experience is welcome but not required
Experience in AI solutions is strongly preferred, and curiosity and deep interest in this technology is critical
Skills & Attributes
Strong ability to learn and communicate complex or technical concepts clearly
Comfortable engaging with technical and senior stakeholders
Highly motivated, resilient, and comfortable with outbound, self-directed work (this role involves a lot of time generating leads on the phone, by email, and other channels)
Structured thinker with strong written and verbal communication skills
Curious about generative AI and how it is applied in real business environments
Location & Work Model
Toronto-based hybrid work environment with regular in-office collaboration (~2 days/week)
What The Company Offers
Competitive base salary with performance-based variable compensation (on-target earnings approximately $110K)
Equity participation for early hires, depending on start date
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
Retirement savings support
Unlimited paid time off, with an active culture of taking meaningful breaks
Wellness, mental health, and professional development stipends
Regular team off-sites and opportunities to work closely with senior leadership
