About our Engineering team
Our engineering team operates at genuine scale - powering loyalty programs for thousands of merchants and handling millions of daily customer interactions, including critical peak events like Black Friday. You'll work on enterprise-level technical challenges while maintaining the impact and autonomy of a focused team where every engineer's contribution directly affects revenue and merchant success.
The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at LoyaltyLion, you will be working in our high performance SCRUM team. You’ll be making a key contribution to application development, with a focus on performance and scalability. Day to day, you’ll be working closely with our Engineering Lead on architectural design, as well as continuously improving your skills to maximise impact for both the team and yourself.
Some of the things you'll be doing:
Delivering clean, well tested, scalable and maintainable code, both Front-end and Back-end
Playing an active role in design discussions as a voice of experience
Planning and continuously delivering valuable features to the end user
Pairing and conducting Peer Reviews to achieve the best results
Working on your personal growth with the Engineering Manager and Engineering Lead
Job requirements
What we’re looking for:
Experience building applications across the stack, including designing for performance, reliability, and extensibility across various layers of the system, from the database to the server to the user's device
Ability to diagnose problems at any level (Client, HTTP/Network, Server, Database, OS)
Experience building React applications
In-depth knowledge of Typescript & NodeJS
Experience with RDBMS
Experience in Agile development practices
An appetite for learning
As an added bonus, you might have:
Relevant experience in real-time, low-latency, high-frequency transaction-based systems
Exposure to the secondary languages we use in our stack (Ruby)
Prior experience in ecommerce
Exposure to these technologies: Debezium, Kafka, Clickhouse, DBT, Cube, Dagster, Superset
