Position Title: Sr. DevOps Engineer

Location: Houston, TX (5 Days Onsite)

Employment Type: W2

Duration: 6+ months (possible extension / CTH)

Candidate Requirement: Local or nearby candidates only

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support large-scale, mission-critical distributed applications. The ideal candidate has strong experience in AWS, Linux/Unix, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and resiliency engineering within enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Jules, etc.)
Automate infrastructure and deployment processes
Support large-scale distributed applications in mission-critical environments
Ensure application resiliency, performance optimization, and disaster recovery readiness
Manage and optimize AWS cloud environments
Maintain and troubleshoot Linux/Unix systems
Collaborate with engineering teams across the SDLC
Support event-driven architectures and messaging APIs (JMS)
Apply DevOps best practices including TDD, automation, and security
Monitor system health and implement performance improvements

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field
8+ years of software engineering experience
Strong expertise in Linux/Unix
Strong experience with AWS cloud services
Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Jules)
Experience in large-scale distributed systems
Knowledge of REST APIs, Spring Boot, Node.js, SQL, and core algorithms
Familiarity with event-driven architectures (JMS)
Strong understanding of resiliency, performance tuning, security, and DR
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

Python / Shell scripting
Strong SQL knowledge
Automation-first mindset
