Database Security Engineer (Oracle Focus):

Company: Digisourced (DCG IT Ltd)

Capacity: Acting as an Employment Business

Location: Canary Wharf, London (Hybrid – 3 days on-site / 2 days remote)

Rate: up to £400 per day (Inside IR35)

Engagement Model: Umbrella only (engaged via an approved FCSA/Professional Passport accredited payroll provider).

Assignment Description:

Digisourced (DCG IT Ltd) is supporting HCL and their end client (under an NDA) in the search for a specialist Database Security Engineer for a high-impact contract assignment.
This role is critical for bridging the gap between deep technical Oracle engineering and rigorous security compliance.
You will lead the onboarding of products to security controls, ensuring that both new and existing environments meet stringent CSO standards and are fully prepared for internal and external audits.

Assignment Responsibilities:

Security Onboarding: Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to integrate security controls, focusing on certificate management, IAM, and data encryption.
Oracle Hardening: Design, implement, and troubleshoot security configurations specifically for Oracle platforms, including TDE and vulnerability remediation.
Audit Readiness: Proactively collect and map evidence to client standards; act as the primary point of contact for security control reviews.
Stream Management: Manage multiple security onboarding workstreams concurrently, overseeing scope, timelines, and stakeholder communication.
Compliance Evidencing: Identify control gaps and work with engineering squads to remediate issues and document control effectiveness.

Verification Scope (Technical Requirements):

Oracle Security: Expertise in Oracle DB hardening, TDE, auditing, and secure configurations.
Security Frameworks: Strong understanding of NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 compliance.
Control Implementation: Proven experience with Access Management (IAM), Data Encryption, and SIEM integration.
Audit & Compliance: Demonstrated ability to gather, organize, and present technical evidence for security audits.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Oracle Database Engineering from a security-first perspective.
Delivery Management: Experience managing technical workstreams within structured environments (Jira/Agile/Waterfall).
Experience: To meet the technical demands and the negotiated rate for this assignment, the successful consultant will typically demonstrate significant professional experience in security engineering or compliance-heavy database roles.
Education/Certs: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; CISSP or Oracle Certified Professional (Security) designations are highly desirable.

Role Type: Contract / Temporary Assignment.
Duration: 6 Months (Initial).
