The Role
The Marketing Intern will support PopUp Bagels’ corporate Marketing team through hands-on, project-based work focused on content creation, social media support, community engagement, communications, and brand storytelling. This role is ideal for a creative, organized, and proactive student who is excited to contribute to a fast-paced, high-growth brand with a strong voice and loyal following. The intern will assist with creating engaging content, supporting social and community management, helping execute marketing initiatives, and contributing to communication and PR-related projects that elevate PopUp Bagels’ brand presence.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist with creating and editing content for social media, internal communications, email marketing, and brand initiatives.
Support the development of written and visual assets including captions, short-form copy, promotional messaging, and simple graphics (as applicable).
Assist with content organization, file management, and maintaining brand-aligned creative templates.
Support day-to-day social media execution including scheduling posts, drafting captions, and organizing content calendars.
Monitor comments, DMs, and community engagement channels and escalate inquiries or brand-sensitive items to the Marketing team as needed.
Track engagement trends and help identify opportunities to improve performance and audience connection.
Assist with drafting and proofreading internal and external communications (announcements, launches, partnerships, community updates, etc.).
Support PR-related coordination such as compiling press lists, organizing media coverage, and tracking mentions.
Help gather and organize brand storytelling assets such as quotes, customer highlights, store/team spotlights, and community moments.
Support marketing campaigns tied to seasonal promotions, new shop openings, product launches, and community partnerships.
Assist with coordination of deliverables across creative, operations, and store teams to ensure marketing execution is aligned and timely.
Participate in a project-based intern deliverable (examples: social content series, campaign recap report, community engagement playbook, or brand voice guide support).
General Internship Program Expectations
Attend intern onboarding sessions, weekly departmental check-ins, and end-of-program presentations.
Demonstrate ownership, curiosity, and professionalism while managing deadlines and deliverables.
Communicate progress and ask questions proactively to ensure alignment and learning.
Required Education, Experience, and Competencies:
Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior undergraduate student, or graduate student, in one of the following (or a closely related field): Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Media Studies, or Business
Preferred Experience
Previous internship, campus involvement, portfolio work, or project experience in content creation, social media, or marketing support.
Familiarity with social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn) and interest in brand voice, storytelling, and audience engagement.
Content & Copywriting Skills: Ability to write clear, engaging, brand-aligned copy for social posts, captions, and basic marketing communications.
Creativity & Brand Awareness: Strong eye for storytelling, trends, and content that resonates with an audience.
Social Media Fluency: Comfortable navigating major platforms and understanding what drives engagement and community growth.
Organization & Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.
Attention to Detail: Ability to proofread content, follow brand guidelines, and maintain accuracy across communications.
Professionalism & Judgment: Ability to use discretion when responding to or escalating community inquiries and brand-related messages.
