Role Description

As a Financial Controller, you are a key figure within the finance team and responsible for accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and the further professionalisation of our processes and systems. You support multiple entities (currently: Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Germany, and their subsidiaries) in an international, fast-evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Reporting

Managing the accounting and Revenue Recognition in accordance with applicable standards
Preparing and publishing timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings
Investigating technical accounting issues to ensure compliance
Ensuring quality and accuracy of financial transactions and reporting
Supporting the regulatory year-end close process
Contract review from a financial accounting perspective

Planning & Analysis

Preparing budgets and financial forecasts
Reporting and analysing variances
Setting up standard reporting and delivering ad-hoc analyses for management

Internal Controls & Processes

Developing, documenting, and strengthening internal controls, business processes, and accounting policies
Ensuring compliance with local, regional, and international reporting requirements and tax obligations
Contributing to the further rollout and optimisation of the NetSuite ERP system

Other Tasks

Performing additional controlling tasks depending on the needs of the team and the growth of the organisation
Supporting payroll-related financial processes (experience with payroll is a plus)

Skills & Competencies

In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial standards
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent IT skills and knowledge of relevant financial software
Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite is a plus
Strong organisational skills, time management, and multitasking abilities
Attention to detail and high accuracy
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Language skills: fluent Dutch, good knowledge of French and English; Spanish is an asset

Experience & Education (required)

Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field
Proven experience as a Financial Controller
Experience with payroll processes
Experience in an international context is a clear plus

Onboarding

As part of our onboarding process, all new employees will be required to attend / travel to the office on their first day of employment. This requirement is essential for onboarding activities, including the identity verification, completion of necessary documentation, receiving your IT equipment, introductions to key team members, and orientation to Clinisys policies and procedures.

Kernverantwoordelijkheden

Accounting & Reporting

Beheren van de boekhouding en Revenue Recognition volgens geldende standaarden
Voorbereiden en publiceren van tijdige maand-, kwartaal- en jaarafsluitingen
Onderzoeken van technische accountingvraagstukken om compliance te garanderen
Waarborgen van kwaliteit en nauwkeurigheid van financiële transacties en rapportering
Ondersteunen van het regulatory year-end close proces
Contract review vanuit een financieelaccounting perspectief

Planning & Analysis

Voorbereiden van budgetten en financiële forecasts
Rapporteren en analyseren van variances
Opzetten van standaardrapportering en leveren van adhoc analyses voor het management

Internal Controls & Processes

Ontwikkelen, documenteren en versterken van interne controles, business processen en accounting policies
Zorgen voor naleving van lokale, regionale en internationale rapporteringseisen en fiscale verplichtingen
Meewerken aan de verdere uitrol en optimalisatie van het NetSuite ERPsysteem

Overige taken

Uitvoeren van bijkomende controllertaken naargelang de noden
