About The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Digital Architect (Consultant) to design, build, and modernize secure, scalable, cloud-native digital services using Microsoft and Azure technologies within ASHC. This role blends hands-on architecture, technical leadership, and enterprise integration.

As a Digital Architect, You Will

Design and evolve a portfolio of modern digital services
Collaborate with cross-functional delivery teams and stakeholders
Architect enterprise-scale, cloud-based solutions
Support legacy modernization and future-ready platforms

Key Responsibilities

Design and architect enterprise-level digital solutions
Lead architectural decisions and mentor technical teams
Develop and enhance applications using modern web and cloud technologies
Build integrations with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and PowerApps
Design cloud-native solutions using Azure PaaS services
Architect distributed systems (microservices, event-driven)
Implement secure development practices (IAM, RBAC, Zero Trust)
Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
Ensure WCAG-compliant accessibility across applications
Align backend systems with frontend architecture and UX design

Must-Haves

10+ years of experience as a Full-Stack Developer or 5+ years as a Digital Architect / Solution Architect
Strong hands-on expertise with .NET, React, and TypeScript
Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale digital solutions
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure PaaS services
Experience working with Azure SQL and Cosmos DB
Strong understanding of microservices-based architectures
Experience designing event-driven and distributed systems
Expertise integrating Microsoft Dynamics 365 APIs and PowerApps
Strong experience with GitHub for source control and collaboration
Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
Solid knowledge of Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture principles
Proven ability to lead architectural decisions in Agile environments
Experience aligning backend services with frontend architecture and UI/UX
Ability to design secure, scalable, and reusable systems
Experience building WCAG-compliant, accessible applications
Ability to work remotely within Canada, with occasional travel to Edmonton

Nice-to-Haves

Prior experience working with public sector, government, or crown corporations
Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
Experience modernizing legacy enterprise systems
Experience mentoring developers and leading technical communities of practice
Knowledge of Power Platform automation (Power Automate)
Experience with Azure API Management
Familiarity with Zero Trust security implementation in cloud environments
Experience with containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS)
Exposure to enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms
Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
Experience working in hybrid remote / in-person consulting environments
