**Job Title:** Head of IT
**Role Summary:**
Leads and expands the IT function for a fast‑growing, technology‑focused organization operating in a highly regulated environment. Oversees all internal IT operations—including infrastructure, end‑user computing, AV, and business applications—while ensuring high availability, security, compliance, and cost‑effective service delivery. Reports directly to the CIO and partners with Security, Software Engineering, and Network Operations teams.
**Expectations:**
- Provide strategic direction and day‑to‑day leadership of the IT team.
- Continuously improve IT processes and introduce new technologies to support rapid business growth.
- Maintain service availability, data security, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage budgets, vendor contracts, and service‑level agreements.
- Deliver clear reporting on IT performance, risks, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Own and enhance internal IT operations (infrastructure, end‑user devices, AV, business apps).
- Lead, mentor, and scale the IT team; identify skill gaps and hiring needs.
- Direct the IT service desk and user support functions.
- Develop, test, and maintain Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
- Oversee IT budgeting, forecasting, and procurement for cost‑effective service delivery.
- Align IT policies, standards, and documentation with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Support onboarding/offboarding to ensure appropriate access and equipment provisioning.
- Evaluate and implement new tools that improve productivity, security, and operational resilience.
- Report IT performance metrics, risks, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong technologist mindset; capable of both hands‑on work and strategic delegation.
- Proven experience as an IT Manager or Head of IT, preferably in regulated sectors (legal, finance, infrastructure).
- Deep expertise managing complex Windows environments on‑premises and in Azure, including hybrid Active Directory.
- Experience with hybrid Windows/macOS device estates.
- Solid understanding of cyber‑security principles and controls.
- Vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
- Budget planning, forecasting, and procurement proficiency.
- Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
- Ability to define, enforce, and document IT policies and standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CISIS/ISO 27001, or equivalent security certifications.
- Project or service management credentials (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.
