Job Description
Job Title: Inside Account Manager Role Summary The Inside Account Manager delivers high-quality customer service and sales support for plumbing, HVAC, and industrial product accounts. The role involves generating and closing sales, maintaining key account relationships, processing orders, and ensuring customer satisfaction to achieve sales and gross profit targets. Expectations - Meet or exceed sales and gross profit targets for the Profit Centre. - Build long‑lasting relationships with existing key accounts and prospect new business. - Manage multiple priorities, orders, and customer inquiries efficiently and accurately. - Collaborate with sales, counter, and credit teams to resolve issues and manage credit risk. Key Responsibilities - Process sales orders and convert quotations into confirmed sales through phone, email, or in‑person interactions. - Maintain and strengthen relationships with established key accounts, ensuring their requests are met and upselling opportunities identified. - Facilitate product ordering from vendors and act as project manager for large projects, tracking lead times and updating customers. - Conduct outbound prospecting campaigns to develop new customers and increase market share. - Handle customer issues such as pricing deductions, returns, and discrepancies, providing timely resolutions. - Coordinate with outside sales, counter teams, and credit department on order issues and potential credit risks. - Support Profit Centre activities, including reporting, order follow‑up, and documentation. - Perform other tasks assigned by the Profit Centre Manager as needed. Required Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). - Strong telephone, verbal, and written communication skills. - Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. - Ability to prospect, identify customer needs, propose solutions, and close sales. - High attention to detail, strong organizational and multitasking abilities. - Basic math skills for pricing and order calculations. - Quick learner capable of mastering order‑processing software. Required Education & Certifications - College and/or university degree (preferred). - Minimum 1 year of customer service or inside sales experience; contractor experience in the same field is preferred. - Certifications: none required. - Preferred additional experience: knowledge of irrigation, building products, and use of Trend/Eclipse software.
