**Job Title**
Platform Engineering Manager
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, delivery, and operationalization of a Governance as a Service (GaaS) platform in AWS for a financial services client. Oversee architecture, code quality, automation, and integration with enterprise systems while managing internal and vendor engineering resources.
**Expectations**
- Deliver a secure, scalable, and reusable platform that embeds governance controls as code.
- Translate governance objectives into actionable engineering practices.
- Mentor engineers, enforce modern engineering practices, and drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate third‑party vendor teams and ensure alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. **Technical Leadership**
- Collaborate with Security Lead on specifications, architecture, and design.
- Define internal developer platform standards to guarantee security, scalability, and reusability.
- Champion TDD, pair programming, and other modern engineering practices.
2. **Engineering & Delivery**
- Convert policy and process standards into code and integrate them into GaaS through APIs, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Build and maintain automation frameworks using AWS services, Python, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling.
- Ensure GaaS integrates seamlessly with existing enterprise systems and workflows.
3. **People & Vendor Management**
- Manage onboarding, planning, and prioritization for engineering staff from Nagarro and FWDView.
- Mentor and coach team members to elevate performance and professional growth.
4. **Governance & Strategy Alignment**
- Translate high‑level governance goals into executable technical outcomes.
- Embed GaaS practices into daily engineering operations across departments.
- Advocate for automation, repeatability, and scalability in governance processes.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience as a Platform Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, or Principal Engineer in an enterprise setting.
- Deep expertise in AWS, Terraform, Python, and CI/CD pipeline design.
- Hands‑on experience with event‑driven architectures and internal developer platforms.
- Strong knowledge of policy‑as‑code, compliance automation, and security integration.
- Understanding of enterprise technology governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or manage third‑party/vendor engineering teams.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF, or equivalent are preferred.
