Job Description
Job Title: Quality Engineer Role Summary: Contract Quality Engineer (6 months) responsible for maintaining ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 compliance, conducting audits, facilitating improvement processes, and ensuring quality standards across all operations. Expectations: - Complete all internal and third‑party audits within agreed timelines. - Lead continuous improvement initiatives and maintain accreditation status. - Provide clear, actionable feedback and training to operators. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct internal ISO 9001/ISO 14001 audits and support external audit activities. - Lead and facilitate 8‑D and PPS (Product Problem Solving) processes for issue resolution. - Perform process and product audits, own corrective action lifecycle, and verify effectiveness. - Deliver training on quality topics to operators and other staff. - Manage master and reference samples; ensure master plan and control plans are current. - Support first‑off inspections and contribute to site‑wide QHSE key performance indicators. Required Skills: - Minimum 5 years experience in a Quality Engineering role. - ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 auditor certification. - Proficient in dimensional metrology and use of small measurement instruments. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data. - Strong command of core quality tools: SPC, APQP, and PPAP. - Excellent communication skills – clear, pragmatic, professional at all levels. - Problem‑solving mindset with a proactive, hands‑on approach. - Full UK driving licence. - Knowledge of CMM programming is a plus but not mandatory. Required Education & Certifications: - Proven ISO 9001/ISO 14001 auditor training. - Relevant engineering or quality assurance qualification (e.g., Diploma in Quality Engineering, ISO certification).
