Strides Toronto is a multi-service agency providing services to young people from birth to age 29 and their families in East Toronto. Formed in January 2020 through the amalgamation of Aisling Discoveries and East Metro Youth Services, Strides Toronto provides a range of community, residential and treatment services to improve the mental, social and physical health of infants, children, youth and their families. We provide individual, group and family interventions that include mental health counselling, autism services, education, outreach and referral, early intervention, day treatment and community support. As Lead Agency for infant, child and youth mental health in Toronto, Strides Toronto works with core service providers to design and implement system-level improvements that transform access to services, experience of services and the mental health outcomes for Toronto’s diverse communities. Strides Toronto has a budget of $30 million and more than 350 employees providing services out of 19 locations across East Toronto. The organization is accredited by the Centre for Accreditation and the predecessor organizations have a long history of providing high-quality services in East Toronto.

Job Description
Job title: Application Specialist Role Summary: Serve as a subject‑matter expert for the organization’s Client Information System (CIS) and related clinical applications. Oversee system configuration, user support, data integration, and training to ensure optimal functionality, compliance with privacy regulations, and seamless client service delivery. Expectations: Provide first and second‑level technical assistance, collaborate with vendors to enhance system capabilities, manage data submissions to regulatory bodies, and deliver user training and documentation. Demonstrate proactive problem‑solving, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: - Act as CIS SME, ensuring technical and clinical processes align with organizational workflows. - Deliver user support via ticketing system, resolving issues promptly and escalating as needed. - Gather stakeholder requirements to design and generate custom reports, forms, and interfaces. - Coordinate data submissions to the Ministry of Health, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. - Monitor system availability, perform maintenance, and apply updates across the organization. - Create and facilitate training sessions, materials, and knowledge‑sharing resources for end‑users. - Communicate updates, changes, and best practices to all users. - Plan and execute complex projects, prioritizing deliverables and meeting deadlines. Required Skills: - 5+ years of experience in IT roles focused on SaaS/ISMS, multi‑tier architecture, and database best practices. - Proficiency in interpreting PHIPA, PIPEDA, and other privacy legislation. - Strong communication, customer‑service, and interpersonal skills in a user‑facing capacity. - Self‑starter with sound judgment, critical and logical thinking, and innovative problem‑solving. - Negotiation and diplomatic skills to manage stakeholder expectations. - Ability to plan and execute complex projects, prioritize competing demands, and adapt to changing environments. Required Education & Certifications: - College or University degree in Information Technology or related field. - Proven experience with multi‑tier product architecture, SaaS, IaaS, communication protocols, and database concepts. - Valid certifications in IT systems management or related disciplines (e.g., ITIL, Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365, or equivalent) are preferred.
