Job Description: **Job Title:** Cybersecurity Intern (Penetration Testing) – Part-Time **Role Summary:** Part‑time cybersecurity intern focused on performing penetration testing across web, mobile, and cloud components. The role includes vulnerability assessment, exploitation, reporting, and remediation support in a startup environment. **Expectations:** - 3‑month internship - Approximately 20 hours per week - Fully remote; open to global applicants - Paid? (unpaid) **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct penetration tests on Django backend, AWS stack, React/React Native clients - Perform vulnerability scans, exploit testing, and produce detailed findings with remediation guidance - Collaborate with DevOps and backend teams to verify fixes and re‑test issues - Assist in strengthening WAF, IAM policies, JWT auth flows, and network security baselines - Contribute to creating a repeatable security testing playbook for future audits and compliance **Required Skills:** - Hands‑on experience with OWASP Top 10, SANS CWE, and API abuse testing - Proficiency in tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Kali Linux, Nmap, Wireshark, ZAP, Hydra - Strong understanding of AWS security services (IAM, VPC, WAF, rate limiting, encryption at rest/in transit) - Experience testing authentication, session management, and payment flows (preferred) - Clear communication and documentation skills for vulnerability reports **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) - Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ beneficial but not mandatory.
