Job title: Business Development Representative Role Summary: Responsible for managing broker‑led opportunities in SME lending, driving deals from initial qualification through onboarding and funding. Acts as the primary contact for finance brokers and clients, ensures a high‑quality customer experience, and identifies process improvements to enhance sales and onboarding efficiency. Expectations: - Own the full sales cycle on broker‑introduced leads. - Rapidly qualify, onboard, and close deals with minimal supervision. - Maintain a clean pipeline and accurate reporting. - Deliver a seamless experience by collaborating with underwriting and operations. - Identify and implement process optimisations. - Contribute to commercial initiatives and ad‑hoc projects as the business scales. Key Responsibilities: - Manage broker‑introduction opportunities end‑to‑end. - Serve as the main point of contact for SME finance brokers and their clients. - Build and nurture long‑term broker relationships, positioning the firm as the preferred lending partner. - Oversee independent customer onboarding in coordination with underwriting and operations. - Detect bottlenecks in sales and onboarding; propose and enact improvements. - Maintain accurate pipeline, update deal status, track broker performance, and report key sales metrics. - Support broader commercial initiatives and ad‑hoc projects. Required Skills: - 2–3 years of broker‑facing business development or closing sales experience in SME lending or fintech. - In‑depth knowledge of SME lending products, credit processes, and KYC/onboarding requirements. - Proven ability to manage deals independently and close from first contact to completion. - Strong relationship‑building skills with brokers and customers. - Process‑driven mindset focused on efficiency and workflow improvement. - Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deals in a fast‑paced environment. - Proficient with CRM systems; data‑savvy for pipeline management and forecasting. - Self‑starter, proactive, and strong problem‑solving attitude. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (preferred). - Relevant certifications in finance or credit (e.g., BCS, CFA) are a plus.
