**Job title** Local Marketing & Communications Manager (NORCECA U19 Men’s Continental Championship) **Role Summary** Drive local marketing, communications, and media initiatives to build awareness, increase ticket sales, and maintain consistent messaging across paid, owned, and earned channels for a major regional sporting event. Works closely with a local organizing committee, partner stakeholders, and a creative team to execute an integrated promotional program. **Expectations** - Part‑time, milestone‑driven contract (≈180 hrs total). - Deliver pre‑event, event‑week, and post‑event activities on schedule. - Maintain local marketing budget and reporting. - Provide onsite communications support during event week. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, implement, and optimize a comprehensive local marketing & communications plan. - Activate paid, owned, and earned media opportunities and track performance metrics. - Identify and secure community‑based promotional partnerships (schools, clubs, venues). - Guide creation of digital ads, posters, and materials, ensuring brand consistency with event guidelines. - Oversee local media outreach: story angles, press releases, media advisories, and earned coverage. - Serve as primary media contact during the event. - Produce post‑event marketing reports, including metrics and insights. **Required Skills** - Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or event promotion. - Proven ability to run integrated campaigns that generate attendance. - Strong collaborator with partners and stakeholders in a committee setting. - Self‑management and organization for milestone‑based, part‑time work. **Desired Skills** - Sport or large event marketing experience. - Familiarity with earned media outreach and local pitching. - Canva or other digital design proficiency. - Knowledge of the local media landscape and audience behaviors. - Availability for onsite support during the event week. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred). - Relevant certifications in digital marketing or event promotion (preferred).
