Job title: Account Executive
Role Summary:
Senior sales professional responsible for managing and growing a private‑label portfolio with large home‑furnishing/retail accounts such as Walmart, Canadian Tire, Home Depot and Rona. Drives incremental revenue, protects margins, and secures repeat business through consultative engagements, cross‑functional collaboration, and disciplined forecasting.
Expectations:
- Deliver annual growth targets for existing accounts while opening new retail relationships.
- Protect margin performance through disciplined pricing and program viability assessment.
- Maintain high‑quality pipeline, accurate CRM data, and variance‑controlled forecasting.
- Foster long‑term partnerships with buyers, ensuring alignment with retailer planning cycles and product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and expand a book of private‑label accounts, leading buyer meetings, line reviews, and commercial negotiations.
- Develop annual account growth strategies, identify cross‑sell and category expansion opportunities.
- Lead new business development: prospect, qualify, pitch, and secure initial placements.
- Negotiate pricing and terms to meet company margin goals while driving additional revenue.
- Forecast sales, maintain structured revenue forecasts within variance thresholds, and update pipeline visibility.
- Collaborate with Product Development, Design, Operations, and Finance to evaluate program viability and ensure commercially sound execution.
- Oversee account stability: conduct annual/seasonal planning discussions, monitor risks, and implement mitigation actions.
- Ensure CRM consistency and provide regular status reports on commercial risks and performance metrics.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience managing and growing significant retail portfolios in home textile, apparel, or related industries.
- Strong consultative selling and solution‑based engagement skills.
- Negotiation acumen with a focus on margin protection and pricing strategy.
- Financial literacy: ability to evaluate program viability, manage contribution, and forecast accurately.
- Excellent stakeholder management, cross‑functional collaboration, and relationship building.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, pipeline management, and reporting tools.
- Strategic mindset with ability to translate account insights into revenue initiatives.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
- Senior sales certification (e.g., Certified Professional Sales Person – CPSP) or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 5‑7 years of sales experience, with at least 2 years in a client‑facing, portfolio‑management role within retail or home‑furnishings.
