Job Description
**Job Title** Category Analyst **Role Summary** Entry‑level analyst who gathers, cleans, and interprets sales and syndicated data to create dashboards, reports, and insights that guide category strategy. Works closely with sales, marketing, and operations to support decision‑making and drive performance improvements. **Expactations** - Deliver accurate, timely reports and visualizations for internal stakeholders. - Conduct ad‑hoc and trend analyses to uncover growth opportunities and risks. - Participate in cross‑functional projects, ensuring objectives are met on schedule. - Continuously improve data quality and category structures. - Communicate findings clearly in written and verbal formats. **Key Responsibilities** - **Data Analysis & Reporting:** extract insights from internal sales data, maintain data hygiene, build weekly/monthly dashboards, track KPIs, and flag performance drivers. - **Category Analysis:** evaluate sales performance, market share, and profitability; support strategic prioritization and risk assessment. - **Category Management:** collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations on assortment, pricing, and promotion strategies; monitor competitive activity. - **Project Management:** lead category‑related initiatives, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure timely completion. **Required Skills** - Strong analytical aptitude with proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, charts, basic formulas). - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Detail‑oriented, organized, and self‑motivated; able to work independently and in teams. **Preferred Skills** - Exposure to SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, or similar analytical tools. - Experience with large datasets and data storytelling. - Knowledge of retail, CPG, or consumer insights concepts. **Required Education & Certifications** Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field. ---
