Job Description
Job Title: Systems & Data Developer Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server environments and data pipelines while supporting .NET‑based applications and internal customer‑facing AI chat features. Provide day‑to‑day IT and systems support for remote users and contribute to data security, performance optimisation, and documentation. Expectations: Deliver reliable, high‑quality data integrations and systems that enable accurate reporting and AI chat functionality. Proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with security standards. Key Responsibilities: - Design, code, and optimise SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, and ETL processes. - Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions for data and application layers. - Investigate and resolve data quality, performance, and system issues across SQL Server and .NET applications. - Support internal and customer‑facing AI chat development. - Provide remote IT support: laptop provisioning, account setup, permissions, patching, and general maintenance. - Maintain access controls, data protection, and Cyber Essentials compliance. - Produce and maintain clear technical documentation. Required Skills: - Proficient in SQL Server (design, optimisation, T‑SQL). - Experience in data engineering, ETL, and database administration. - Ability to diagnose and resolve data/system problems. - Familiarity with .NET applications and basic debugging. - Knowledge of data security, access control, and best practices. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Desirable Skills: - Power BI or similar BI tools. - SSIS or other ETL tools. - C#, ASP.NET, vue.js, Node, IIS/web application experience. - Azure or other cloud data platforms. - Cyber Essentials familiarity. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent technical experience. - SQL Server or related database certifications preferred.
