Job title: Co‑Executive Director: Development & Community Relations
Role Summary: Shared executive leadership overseeing fundraising, donor stewardship, community engagement, and communication strategy while fostering a collaborative, equity‑centered culture.
Expactations: Lead and co‑direct organizational vision, strategy, and culture with the founder; build trust across board, staff, volunteers, and partners; drive revenue growth and community visibility; operate within a 12‑month contract with optional residency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Co‑lead strategic planning, culture building, and organizational governance with Founder/Co‑ED of Programs & Ops.
• Design, implement, and monitor a comprehensive fundraising plan, including campaigns, donor events, grant writing, and revenue reporting.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, institutional partners, and coalition members.
• Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and coalition tables; coach volunteers and ambassadors.
• Oversee external communications: social media, newsletters, storytelling, and content strategy.
• Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses, civic leaders, and NGOs to enhance visibility and collaboration.
• Report to the Board, support the Development & Community Relations Committee, and participate in governance activities.
Required Skills:
• 3+ years proven nonprofit development or community engagement experience.
• Strong donor cultivation, grant writing, and campaign design track record.
• Excellent written, verbal, and digital communication.
• Interpersonal and collaborative leadership with volunteer/committee management experience.
• Commitment to equity, community empowerment, and inclusive practices.
• Comfort in a shared leadership/co‑directorship model.
Required Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, or related field (preferred).
• Fundraising or development certifications (e.g., CFP, CAP, or equivalent) preferred.
